We are looking for a bilingual Administrative Assistant – Legal to join our team!

The bilingual Administrative Assistant – Legal is responsible for supporting firm-wide Conflict of Interests and Firewall processes for all… assigned incoming matters to the Firm in accordance with Firm protocols.

In this role, the incumbent will be tasked to process the conflict search requests and review conflict clearance related to lateral hires. The position requires a strong analytical ability to analyze conflict searches, generate conflict reports from Aderant and respond to conflict-related inquiries. This position requires daily professional interaction with attorneys and legal assistants throughout the Firm and assists with other tasks related to Conflicts and the implementation of Firewalls. Ensures the delivery of service excellence to all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
• Managing a high volume of conflict of interest research requests nationwide while adhering to firm policies and protocols, including following hires (partners and associates) or file openings.
• Validate conflict of interest reports, determine if conflicts exist, and contact counsel as appropriate for further information and documentation.
• Work collaboratively with counsel and members of the firm on issues related to silos and conflicts of interest.
• Perform any other duties related to conflicts of interest.

What you’ll bring:
• Relevant experience in processing conflict search requests is an asset.
• 2 years Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in business.
• Familiar with relational databases and client-server concepts.
• A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
• May require a bachelor’s degree in a related area and 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be acceptable.
• Ability to work efficiently and independently with a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality and professionalism.
• Knowledge of Aderant.
• Proficient in computer skills and aptitude for learning conflict check systems.
• Working understanding of large law firm processes and procedures.
• Effective time management and the ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Bilingualism in English and French is required.
